Q1: hi we just bought this model from your shop. today the packet arrived! well we put the eyepice on - but we are not able to see anything. seems like the light is no comming through correctly. is there any hint? something we forgot? something we need to know? or might it be defect? thanks a lot for your help! greetings patrick cadonau

A: When you put the eyepiece in were all the coverings for both the scope and eyepieces removed? Did you have your eye either really close to the lens or really far back, i ask that because sometimes when at a high magnification you will need to carefully line your eye up witht he eyepiece otherwise all you see is just black. Try looking through both the spotting scope and eyepiece individually then try looking through them together with the eyepiece at the lowest magnification. of course if you are still having problems call us right away so that we can try to get evcerything taken care of for you.

A: Weight of the body is 2.8 pounds and of the eyepiece is .45 pounds for a total of 3.25 pounds.

Q3: Does the eyepiece have a rubber extender to block out light?? Also what is the quality of this glass, if I looked through it and a top-of-the-line Zeiss, would there be a big differance????

A: Hi Mark, The Ultima does have an eyecup - but it's not extendible. With the exception of Swarovski or Leica - it's hard to compete with Zeiss glass. I've never compared the two scopes with similar objectives side by side - but I would be willing to bet that the Zeiss would grant you a much more crisp and vivid image than the Celestron. This is not, however, to discount the Celestron either. For the money- the Celestron is an excellent scope - especially when you're comparing it to spotters around 1,000 dollars. Zeiss is a hard act to follow - but Celestron's Ultima do offer some crisp clear images as well. Best Regards, Denny
